Workshop

Within the last years we can observe a new interest in the debate and the dialogue between science and art, which could be the beginning of a new kind of interdisciplinarity. For this reason and because the Cortona Week has been oriented to interdisciplinarity from its very beginning, there will take place a series of four “dialogues & disputes” between scientists and artists under the title "Science versus / or / and / against Art?".

The “dialogues & disputes” cover some of the most interesting problems, connections and differences between science and art.
The first of four sessions has the titel

'Art is not Science – Science is not Art – isn't it?
Reflecting the nature of dis/similar twins'
The artist John Wolf Brennan will challenge the scientist Reinhard Nesper with questions - and with answers.

The following three debates will continue, disrupt, enlarge, renew the topic under the chair of Giaco Schiesser, ZHdK
